1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, company name, phone number, and payment information when you register or transact on RigBid. We also collect listing content including equipment descriptions, photos, and videos you upload. We automatically collect usage data including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken on the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the platform, process transactions, send transactional emails (bid notifications, auction results, listing approvals), provide customer support, prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service, and improve our platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Information Sharing
We share limited information with other users as necessary to facilitate transactions — for example, a buyer and seller will see each other's names and company names after a transaction completes. We share information with service providers including Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Cloudinary (media storage), and Resend (email delivery). We may disclose information when required by law.
4. Authentication
We use Clerk for user authentication. Clerk's privacy policy governs their handling of authentication data. We do not store passwords.
5. Payment Data
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. RigBid does not store full credit card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
6. Media and Listings
Photos and videos you upload are stored via Cloudinary and are publicly accessible as part of your listings. Do not upload images containing sensitive personal or business information.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session management, and platform functionality. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect platform functionality.
8. Data Retention
We retain your account data while your account is active. Transaction records are retained for 7 years for legal and tax purposes. You may request deletion of your account by contacting privacy@rigbid.com. Note that transaction records may be retained even after account deletion.
9. Your Rights
You may access, correct, or delete your personal information by contacting us. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional emails (bid notifications, auction results) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.
10. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
